A major revelation has emerged in the investigation of the car blast that shook the capital, Delhi. Intelligence agencies strongly suspect a terrorist attack involving a suicide explosion with explosives planted in an i20 car. At the traffic signal on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Marg near the Red Fort on November 10 at 6:52 PM, the car blast tragically claimed 8 lives and injured 20 others. In this case, Delhi Police have lodged a case under UAPA Sections 16 and 18, related to terrorism and its punishment, along with Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act added to the FIR.
The Delhi Police Special Cell has found several crucial clues pointing towards this being a suicide terrorist attack. The car was registered with Gurgaon North RTO, Haryana. The car number was HR 26 7624, registered in the name of a person named Mohammad Salman, who has been detained for questioning. Salman disclosed that he sold the car to Tariq, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir. Interestingly, the same car received a traffic ticket for wrongful parking in Faridabad on the night of September 15, 2025, around 12:00 AM, amounting to 1723 INR. Tariq has been taken into custody by the Jammu and Kashmir police.
Suspected Terrorist Umar Was Allegedly in the i20 Car
According to Delhi Police Special Cell sources, early investigation signals that the car blast near the Red Fort might be connected with the Faridabad Terror Module, which was exposed on the night of November 9. Intelligence agencies suspect that terrorist Dr. Umar Mohammed might have been inside the i20 car. Earlier, Delhi Police Special Cell had reported via sources that Umar Mohammed, a significant member of the Faridabad Terror Module, was on the run. The police plan to conduct a DNA test on the deceased person found in the car to confirm if it was Dr. Umar. At the time of the blast, three suspects were in the car, and identifying them is a priority for the investigation agencies.

Shocking Revelations from the Timeline of the i20 Car
After analyzing nearby CCTV footage, the Delhi Police Special Cell has uncovered significant facts about the i20 car. The car entered the parking at the historical Sunehri Mosque near the Red Fort on November 10 at 3:19 PM and remained parked for nearly 3 hours. It exited at 6:48 PM, and just 4 minutes later, exploded at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Marg traffic signal at 6:52 PM. The car’s prolonged stay in the mosque's parking lot appears suspicious. Investigators suspect that explosives might have been planted inside the vehicle during its stay at the mosque. Delhi Police Special Cell has released a picture taken just before the blast, clearly showing the car moving towards the street near Sunehri Mosque.

The i20 car involved in the explosion at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near Red Fort was purchased from a car dealership named 'Royal Car Zone' in Faridabad, located in Sector-37, dealing in used cars. Attempts to contact the dealership's operators were unsuccessful as their phones were switched off. The blast's intensity was so high that it consumed 6 nearby cars and 3 autorickshaws, shattered street lights, and blew out glass from the Red Fort Metro Station and nearby stores. NIA, NSG, and forensic teams reached the site, collecting samples. Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Delhi car blast is under comprehensive investigation from all angles. Should it reveal to be a terrorist incident, layers of the plot will be fully uncovered.
Faridabad Terror Module Involves Three Doctors
The Faridabad Terror Module, recently busted by the Jammu and Kashmir police, is an inter-state and international terrorist network. Suspected members of this module were associated with banned organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), operating on their directives. The module's mastermind was led from Pakistan with handlers in Kashmir. This terror network also involved two male doctors and a female doctor. Among them were Dr. Muzammil Ahmed Ganai from Alfred University, Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather from Pulwama, and Dr. Shaheen Shahid from Lucknow, from whose car an AK-47 was recovered.
Other apprehended figures include Arif Nisar Dar alias Sahil, Yasir-ul-Ashraf, Maqsood Ahmed Dar alias Shahid (all from Srinagar), Maulvi Irfan Ahmed (Shopian), and Jameer Ahmed Ahangar (Ganderbal). On November 10, right before the Delhi blast, Dr. Muzammil's rented residence in Dhauj village, Faridabad, revealed a shocking stash: 360 kg of Ammonium Nitrate, 2900 kg of materials used for making IEDs, AK-56 rifles, an AK Krinkov assault rifle, a Beretta pistol, Chinese Star pistols, hundreds of cartridges, detonators, wires, timers, and remote controls. This terror module was plotting major strikes in Delhi-NCR and North India. The police describe these accused as part of a white-collar terror network: educated professionals providing technical and financial support to terrorism.
