In a daring incident in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, thieves attacked a bullion trader and his son, and made off with millions in loot. The incident has caused a stir in the community. The trader claims that the thieves have stolen jewelry worth 20 lakhs and cash of 2.5 lakhs. Following the incident, the police team reached the spot and transported the injured father and son to the hospital. A search operation for the assailants has been initiated by the police.
In the Aurangabad area of Tantura, Banke Lal Varma runs his establishment known as Moolchand Jewelers. Like every other evening, he and his son Sonu were heading home after closing the shop on Friday evening. It was on the Agra-Delhi National Highway near Bhagwan Nagar where three assailants on a motorcycle struck the father and son's motorcycle.
As the two fell to the ground, the robbers attacked them with the butt of a gun, injured them, and fled with a bag full of gold, silver, and cash. The father and son were left bleeding on the road until passersby noticed them and alerted the police. The police team quickly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation and facilitated medical help for the injured trader and his son.
The injured shop owner, Banke Lal Varma, said that three robbers had been trailing them on a bike, striking them with their vehicle before assaulting them with the butt of a gun. The bag contained jewelry worth approximately 15 to 20 lakh rupees, along with 2.50 lakh in cash, all of which was stolen by the bandits. The robbers also fired their guns twice during the incident.
Concerning the event, SSP Shalesh Pandey commented that the police are treating the incident with utmost seriousness. Multiple police teams have been deployed. Senior police officers had arrived on the scene to probe the situation as soon as they were informed.
