India's star fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj, had a troublesome journey on Wednesday night. His Air India Express flight from Guwahati to Hyderabad was scheduled to depart at 7:25 PM, but it was delayed for hours without a clear reason. Siraj, along with other passengers, tried multiple times to get updates, but the airline did not provide any concrete information.

Mohammed Siraj shared his experience on social media. He wrote on X, 'The Air India flight number IX 2884 from Guwahati to Hyderabad was supposed to depart at 7.25 PM, but there was no communication from the airline. Despite repeated attempts to contact them, they failed to provide a valid reason for the delay.'

Furthermore, Siraj added, 'This is really frustrating, as every passenger deserves basic information. The flight was delayed by 4 hours, and with no updates, we felt stranded. It was the worst airline experience ever. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to travel with them if they don't take strong measures.'

Minutes after Siraj's post, Air India Express issued a public apology. The airline stated that the flight had to be canceled due to unforeseen operational reasons. They assured that their staff at the airport were assisting the passengers. The airline wrote, 'We understand how challenging this situation is. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. Rest assured, we will continue to provide updates and assistance.'

Mohammed Siraj was returning home from Guwahati, where the Indian team faced a 408-run defeat against South Africa in the second Test. This resulted in India losing the series 0-2. This was India's second whitewash in Test cricket at home under coach Gautam Gambhir.

Last year, New Zealand also defeated India 3-0. The defeat in Guwahati marked India's biggest loss by runs in Test history. Now, India will play a three-match ODI series against South Africa starting November 30.
