As the elections for the Chambal's Morena-Shyopur Lok Sabha seat draw near, candidates are trying various tactics to entice voters, even at the cost of violating the code of conduct. The latest incident from the town of Ambah involves BJP candidate Shivmangal Singh Tomar, who placed a photo of Lord Ram alongside his own and Legislative Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar's on a cart, followed by an indecent dance performance to solicit votes. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Congress district chief Madhuraj Tomar has expressed objections to the use of Lord Ram's picture for such an obscene dance performance and leveraging the deity's name for electoral gains. Congress suggests that BJP is resorting to such tactics due to their trailing status in the election.
Indecent dance used to charm voters
Narendra Singh Tomar, advocating for the BJP candidate, seems to have forgotten the dignity of his constitutional position while making a voting appeal. BJP has now stooped to asking for votes in the name of Lord Ram, with the disgraceful act of hosting an obscene dance on his cart. Congress, pointing a finger at BJP, claims that the electorate has become aware of BJP's true character.
Congress targets BJP over the unworthy act
In the Morena Lok Sabha constituency, which comprises eight assembly seats - Shyopur, Vijaypur, Sabalgarh, Joura, Sumawali, Morena, Dimani, and Ambah, BJP has maintained a stronghold since 1996. Initially reserved for the Scheduled Castes, this seat later became unreserved, while Bhind, initially unreserved, was reserved for the Scheduled Tribes.
