Amidst fervor and determination, Congress legislators launched a protest outside Bhopal's Raj Bhawan against Madhya Pradesh minister Vijay Shah's offensive comments about army officer Colonel Sophia Qureshi. Clad in black, besuited Congress leaders chanted slogans demanding Shah's resignation and fiercely criticized the state government.
Before the protest, they met with Governor Mangubhai Patel, presenting a memorandum that passionately called for Vijay Shah's resignation. Following the submission, rallying cries echoed at the gates of Raj Bhawan, labeling slogans like 'Vijay Shah, resign!' and 'Shame on BJP government!'
Leader of Opposition, Singh, interrogated why Chief Minister Mohan Yadav isn't procuring Shah's resignation. He condemned Shah's disgraceful comments against our courageous daughter Colonel Sophia Qureshi, an affront to both our army and the nation's daughters. The Chief Minister must clarify whether he and his entire cabinet endorse Shah's remarks. If not, his immediate resignation is essential."
It is known that during an event in Mhow, Indore district, Vijay Shah made the reprehensible comment about Colonel Sophia Qureshi. Following this, the Madhya Pradesh High Court proactively ordered an FIR in Indore's Manpur Police Station against Shah. Yet, the BJP hesitated to take action against Shah, prompting an intensified response from Congress.
