Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has once again targeted the central government with sharp criticism over the Manipur violence. He mentioned that under BJP's dual leadership, Manipur is neither united nor safe.

On social media platform X, tagging PM Modi, he wrote, "Your double engine government hasn't unified or secured Manipur. Since May 2023, Manipur has undergone unimaginable pain, division, and violence, damaging the future of its residents. We say this responsibly: it appears BJP deliberately wants to set Manipur ablaze, exploiting their divisive politics."

'Violence Spreads Across Northeastern States'

Kharge also highlighted that since November 7, 17 lives have been lost in Manipur. Violence continues to spread across several areas, including northeastern states.

He accused the central government of failing in Manipur, stressing that whenever you visit Manipur in the future, its people will never forgive or forget that you left them helpless without setting foot to find solutions to halt the violence.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath retorted against the Congress President, depicting him as elderly with no courage to speak the truth. He stated, "That's why I came, to make known the truth."

CM Yogi's Retort

Yogi claimed, "Mallikarjun's village was burnt by the Nizam of Hyderabad in 1947. His mother, sister, and aunt perished in the fire. Saying this, Kharge feels agitated. Accept the truth, Kharge Ji. Tell the public, who was the Nizam?" CM Yogi expressed this during a public rally in Maharashtra.

On Saturday, Manipur again witnessed violence with enraged mobs vandalizing several MLAs' homes and attempted to advance towards CM Biren Singh's residence, prompting police intervention to disperse the crowd. Subsequently, over 20 arrests have been made, and a curfew imposed in Imphal until further notice.
