CM Yogi Strikes Against Corruption... Action from Ballia to Sitapur and Varanasi, SP and Inspectors Facing Consequences

Under the zero-tolerance policy of the Yogi government towards corruption, rapid actions have been taken in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Ballia, Sitapur, Barabanki, and Varanasi. Yesterday, the entire police station in Ballia was suspended due to allegations of running an extortion racket involving trucks. Meanwhile, the Sitapur SP took strict action against corruption by placing over two dozen police personnel, including the SHO of Kamlapur station, on standby.

Additionally, in Varanasi, Chowki in-charge Suryaprakash Pandey, caught in a robbery case, was arrested and sent to jail. Two of his accomplices were also apprehended. In Barabanki, upon the orders of the DM, SDM/Joint Magistrate of Sadar Tehsil, along with ASP Akhilesh Singh and the police force, raided the district hospital, registry office, and ARTO office, causing a stir among middlemen. Fifteen brokers were arrested during the sudden raid.

Yogi Government in Action Mode

Notably, the Yogi government of the state is consistently taking action against police and corruption. In this sequence, actions have been taken against corrupt policemen in Ballia, Sitapur, and Varanasi. Additionally, raids were conducted in government offices in Sant Kabir Nagar, Fatehpur, and Maharajganj.

Major Action on Ballia Police Department

In Ballia, CM Yogi has taken strict action in the case of illegal extortion from trucks at the Bihar-UP border. After the arrest of two police personnel, the SP and ASP of the district were also hit. They have been removed from their positions, and the CO of the area has also been suspended. Moreover, police personnel involved in illegal activities at Bharoili checkpoint were caught during a joint raid by the ADG and DIG. Eighteen brokers involved in extortion were also apprehended, suspending the entire police station. Orders have been given to investigate the properties of police officers.

Varanasi Robbery Inspector Sent to Jail

Meanwhile, in Varanasi, sub-inspector Suryaprakash Pandey was found involved in a robbery case. He was the in-charge of Nadesar police outpost under Cantt police station in Varanasi. Along with his accomplices, he stopped a bus near Bhiti in the Ramnagar area on June 22, 2024, and looted Rs 4.2 million from the workers of a businessman by identifying themselves as crime branch officers and displaying pistols.

Now, Vikas Mishra, Ajay Gupta, and sub-inspector Suryaprakash Pandey involved in this heist have been arrested and sent to jail after being presented in court. This action has caused an uproar in the department.

Raids in Sant Kabir Nagar

In Sant Kabir Nagar, the district administration has taken action against brokers active in government departments. The joint team of administration and police raided government offices, detained suspects for interrogation, and arrested 20 brokers. The sudden raid, led by ADM Jayprakash, ASP Shashi Shekhar Singh, and CO Sadar Ajit Chauhan, caused a stir in the departments.

Similarly, a sudden raid was conducted by the DM at the ARTO office in Fatehpur district, causing chaos in the entire department. Complaints were received for a long time regarding brokers and outsiders working in the office. Brokers sitting outside the ARTO office shut their shops and fled during the raid.

The DM issued a stern reprimand to ARTO and RTO officers for continuously receiving complaints and gave strict orders to eliminate corruption and disorder in the office as soon as possible. During this raid, over two dozen motorcycles and around a dozen suspects were taken into custody. Fourteen vehicles were seized due to the absence of papers.

Raid in Barabanki's District Hospital, ARTO, and Sub-registrar Office

The impact of CM Yogi Adityanath's strict orders was also visible in Barabanki. On Friday, the SDM/Joint Magistrate of Sadar Tehsil, along with ASP Akhilesh Singh and the police force, raided the district hospital, registry office, and ARTO office, causing a commotion among the middlemen.

According to reports, 13 people were arrested from the ARTO office and handed over to the police. Two middlemen attempting to send patients to private hospitals from the district hospital were also arrested. Brokers started closing their shops and fleeing after the sudden raid.

Meanwhile, the Sitapur SP took strict action against corruption, placing over two dozen police personnel, including the SHO of Kamlapur station, on standby. This action shocked the police department. The incident is widely discussed among officials and the public.
