Let's understand why he said this.

A Cup of Tea for ₹340 at the Airport!

Former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram expressed his astonishment over the price of tea at the airport through an X post. Memories of the Old Days...

Chidambaram recalled his experience of buying tea at Chennai Airport in Tamil Nadu a few years ago, where the same tea was priced at ₹80. This clearly indicates that inflation is significantly higher in West Bengal compared to Tamil Nadu. It is worth mentioning that Chidambaram is a senior leader of Congress and currently represents Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha.

According to a report in Business Today, the Congress leader further mentioned that when he had publicly raised the issue of an ₹80 tea at Chennai Airport and tweeted about it, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) took note of it and took corrective measures.
