The 27th season of the CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) Awards took place on Tuesday, October 7, in Mumbai, where cricketers and sports leaders from around the globe were celebrated. Among the highlights was former Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who stole the spotlight.
The 38-year-old Rohit was awarded a special accolade for leading India to victory in the Champions Trophy. This victory marked India's second consecutive ICC Trophy win under his captaincy, following the T20 World Cup title in Barbados in June 2024. The legendary Sunil Gavaskar presented the award to Rohit.
This event marked Rohit Sharma's first public appearance since being relieved of his role as India's ODI captain. With Gill taking charge on October 19 as he leads the team in a three-match ODI series in Australia, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been included in the Indian team, marking their first series in international cricket since the Champions Trophy win.
