The Maharashtra government has now taken decisive action in the Nagpur unrest case. Following the bulldozer action on Faheem Khan's house, the anti-encroachment team of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation has also demolished the illegal construction at the residence of Yusuf Sheikh, another accused in the violence.

This move aligns with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's recent announcement of firm action against rioters. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) promptly demolished Faheem Khan's illegally constructed house on Monday. Allegedly, Faheem Khan is the mastermind behind the communal violence that erupted in Nagpur's Mahal, Hanspuri, and Bhaldarpura areas. Khan has been accused of instigating violence and conspiracy during the riots and is currently under arrest on charges of sedition as well. Police are conducting a detailed investigation into his alleged involvement in the communal unrest.

During a press conference on March 22, reporters asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis whether demolitions, similar to those in Uttar Pradesh, would occur in Nagpur for rioters' houses. To this, Chief Minister Fadnavis had said, 'Action will be taken when the time is right.' Just days after this announcement, NMC initiated the bulldozer action on Faheem Khan's illegal construction.

Faheem Khan serves as the Nagpur city president of the Minority Democratic Party (MDP). He reportedly orchestrated illegal construction on plot number 61/A in Sanjay Bagh Colony, Yashodhara Nagar. Initially, NMC issued a notice in the name of Mahirunissa Shamim Khan, with a copy delivered to Faheem Khan's residence. The notice instructed Faheem Khan and his relatives to dismantle the illegal structure within a week or face a bulldozer action by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
