On the international border in Jammu, a BSF soldier was martyred, and seven others were injured due to Pakistani firing. This unfortunate event took place in the RS Pura sector. A senior BSF official revealed that Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiaz courageously led his team, displaying extraordinary leadership and making the ultimate sacrifice.

The cross-border firing by Pakistan resulted in injuries to Imtiaz and seven others. Tragically, Imtiaz succumbed to his injuries, while the other security personnel have been hospitalized. Paying tribute to the fallen hero, the Jammu Frontier took to social media, stating, "On May 10, 2025, during cross-border firing at RS Pura in Jammu district, we honor the supreme sacrifice of brave BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiaz, who served the nation selflessly." The Director-General of BSF expressed condolences to his family.

A ceremony to honor Imtiaz will be held at the Jammu Frontier headquarters in Paloura on Sunday, as announced by a BSF officer. The BSF is tasked with guarding the extensive border stretching over 2,000 kilometers between India and Pakistan. While both nations have agreed on a ceasefire, Pakistan violated it during the night, dispatching drones to various locations across Jammu and Kashmir. The armed forces responded swiftly, using air defense systems to neutralize the threat. Multiple explosions occurred within Srinagar city. Security agencies successfully shot down a drone hovering near a military installation in the Batwara area of the city.

This occurred just hours after both countries declared an agreement to cease all firearms and military actions. Government sources in India reported that Pakistan breached the bilateral agreement to halt all ground, air, and sea-based hostilities immediately.

In the wake of several explosions post-sunset, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah questioned the ceasefire declaration. The intermittent blaze lighting up the night sky of the city accompanied by explosive sounds was a stark reminder. Officials reported spotting a drone over Baramulla city in northern Kashmir at around 8:20 PM.
