A major news break from Uttar Pradesh politics: Former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Brij Bhushan made his way to the Chief Minister's residence in Lucknow for this meeting which reportedly lasted around thirty minutes.
Notably, it was Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's first visit to the official residence of CM Yogi. Although referred to as a courtesy meeting, the encounter carries significant political implications, potentially bridging the political gap between Brij Bhushan and CM Yogi.
Historically, Brij Bhushan has been known as a political adversary of Yogi in eastern Uttar Pradesh, a fact he has openly acknowledged. Previously, he mentioned in an 'Aaj Tak' interview, 'I don't visit there, though family members do meet with Yogi.' Nonetheless, today he personally visited the Chief Minister.
Why did the former MP seek a meeting with the CM now?
After a prolonged political stalemate, Brij Bhushan Singh met CM Yogi. Although the exact reasons remain unclear, sources suggest this meeting could reopen long-closed channels of dialogue and hold vast political ramifications—particularly influencing eastern Uttar Pradesh's politics and the electoral dynamics of the 2027 elections.
It is known that Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has served as a BJP MP from Kaiserganj and also held the position of WFI President. During the Ram Temple movement, he played an active role. However, amidst allegations by female wrestlers, his ticket was withdrawn in the last Lok Sabha elections, although his son, Karan Bhushan, received a ticket and secured a win.
