The Bharatiya Janata Party has released their 8th candidate list for the Lok Sabha elections, placing new bets in 6 seats of Punjab and 3 of Odisha. Turning our eyes first to Punjab, the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat has seen a switch as Sunny Deol's candidacy is dropped in favor of Dinesh Singh 'Babbu'.
In contrast, Taranjit Singh Sandhu demonstrates the party's faith in him with the Amritsar seat. Meanwhile, Parneet Kaur has been projected into the electoral fray for the Patiala Lok Sabha seat. Parneet is the wife of Captain Amarinder Singh.
The BJP has charged Hans Raj Hans to enter the race for the Faridkot seat, a notable parliamentarian from the Northwest Delhi constituency. Further moves include betting on Ravneet Singh Bittu in Ludhiana and Sushil Kumar Rinku in Jalandhar, with a matching trio announced for Odisha. Here, BJP has inducted Rabindra Narayan Behera for the Jajpur seat, Sukant Kumar Panigrahi for Kandhamal, and fielded Bhartuhari Mahtab in Cuttack.
Wild Cards Played Among Rebels
Rebel AAP member Sushil Kumar Rinku and defectors from Congress, Ravneet Singh Bittu and Parneet Kaur have been given tickets by BJP. Recent headlines were made when Ravneet Bittu, grandson of former Punjab CM Beant Singh, switched to BJP, leaving a void in Congress. Bittu, a sitting MP from Ludhiana and once close to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, joined BJP just four days ago, expressing his intent to push Punjab forward.

Parneet Kaur's BJP Candidacy from Patiala
Echoing similar shifts, Parneet Kaur also embraced BJP earlier this month. She asserted that aligning with a party capable of ensuring a bright future for children is crucial. Confident in her work for the constituency, Parneet believes that under Narendra Modi's leadership, children will be secure and prosperous.
Sushil Kumar Rinku's Rebellion Against AAP
Similarly, Jalandhar's MP, Sushil Kumar Rinku defied AAP recently, joining BJP hands. Despite AAP announcing him as a repeat candidate from Jalandhar, Rinku opted for BJP, leaving his former party behind.
