Meanwhile, the ruling National Conference in J&K declared its three candidates for the Rajya Sabha election last Friday, claiming ongoing discussions with Congress for a fourth seat.
On Sunday, BJP's Central Election Committee issued a press release naming the candidates for the three distinct biennial elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Under Notification 01, Ghulam Mohammad Mir has been chosen as the candidate for one of the Rajya Sabha seats.

The press release detailed that under Notification 02, Rakesh Mahajan is slated as a candidate for another Rajya Sabha seat. Under Notification 03, two Rajya Sabha seats have been confirmed for Satpal Sharma. This announcement was made by Arun Singh, BJP National General Secretary and Headquarters In-charge.
