Nitin Naveen and Rahul Sinha to Join Rajya Sabha, BJP Reveals Candidates List

Political activities have intensified for the Rajya Sabha elections in various states. BJP has initiated candidate selection and released a list.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its list of candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. The party has finalized names for a total of 9 candidates from Bihar, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Odisha, and West Bengal. BJP has prioritized leaders with strong organizational command for ticket allocation in the Rajya Sabha elections. It is notable that voting for 37 Rajya Sabha seats across 10 states in the country is set for March 16. The official notification has been issued, and the last date for nominations is March 5.

BJP National President Nitin Naveen has been selected as the party's candidate for the Rajya Sabha election from Bihar. Nitin Naveen has served as the MLA from Bankipur, Patna, five times and has a strong foothold in Bihar politics. From West Bengal, BJP has fielded Rahul Sinha, known as one of the principal faces of the party in the state. Young leader Shivesh Kumar has also been chosen by BJP as a Rajya Sabha candidate from Bihar. Elections are to be held for 5 Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar.

From Assam, the party has nominated Terash Gowala and Jogen Mohan, both having played significant roles in state politics. Assam has elections for three Rajya Sabha seats. In Odisha, BJP has given tickets to Manmohan Samal and Sujit Kumar. Given BJP's governance in the state, the party's position is considered robust.

The saffron party has declared Lakshmi Verma as a candidate from Chhattisgarh. She has been an active member of the BJP Mahila Morcha and is well-known for her social endeavors. In Chhattisgarh, two Rajya Sabha seats are becoming vacant. Meanwhile, from Haryana, Sanjay Bhatia has secured the ticket. Coming from an administrative background, he has played an important role within the party organization. Haryana too will witness elections for two Rajya Sabha seats.
