In the village of Kaduatari, located in Bihar's Jamui district, there was information regarding illicit local liquor production. Acting on this tip-off, a police team set out to conduct a raid. However, during this operation, they were ambushed by members of the tribal community. This assault resulted in four police officers sustaining serious injuries.
A video of this attack has surfaced, circulating widely on social media platforms. The footage vividly shows members of the tribal community chasing and attacking the police, despite the officers being armed with rifles. Even with weapons, the police found themselves unable to fend off the aggression.
In a desperate bid to save their lives, the officers managed to escape the clutches of the attackers. The injured personnel have been identified as SI Urmila Kumari, PSI Shubham Jha, Chaukidar Sudama Paswan, and Constable Chandan Kumar, all of whom received treatment at the Barhat Primary Health Center.
According to police reports, Barhat police had been receiving consistent intelligence that large quantities of local liquor were being produced in Kaduatari village. With this knowledge, the police had been persistently conducting operations in the area. Late Friday evening, the Barhat police embarked on another raid, but were quickly surrounded by villagers.
Before the officers could react, the aggressive villagers launched an attack on the police team. In their frenzy, the mob initially targeted the chaukidar, and soon, other police personnel fell victim to their assault.
