The police arrested the influential JDU candidate Anant Singh at midnight in connection with the murder of Dularchand Yadav in Mokama, Bihar. This operation was conducted between 1 to 2 AM. Patna SSP Kartikey Sharma arrived at Kargil Market in Bar at around 11:10 PM and engaged in a 35-minute conversation with Anant Singh. Following this, at 11:45 PM, SSP Sharma departed from Bar with Singh and reached Patna. By 1 AM, it was reported that the SSP would hold a press conference in Patna. Patna's DM arrived at 1:30 AM to attend the conference.

SSP Kartikey Sharma explained that alongside Anant Singh, three individuals were arrested during the night, and raids are ongoing. The initial investigation revealed a confrontation between supporters of both sides led to the incident. Stone-pelting and brawls broke out, resulting in the murder of Dularchand Yadav. The actions during the transfer of the body for post-mortem are also being considered.
According to SSP Sharma, the investigation resulted in the arrest of three individuals: Anant Singh, Manikant Thakur, and one other person. Findings suggested Anant Singh was present at the scene with his associates during the incident.
80 Others Also Detained
A total of 80 individuals have been apprehended in connection to this case. The post-mortem report indicated that Yadav died from severe injuries to his heart and lungs due to the scuffle. He was also shot in the ankle. SSP Kartikey Sharma clarified that the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely.
Stone Samples to be Analyzed
After Dularchand Yadav's murder raised the political temperature in Bihar, the CID has assumed control of the investigation. Stone samples used during the Mokama Tal area violence have been collected. These stones are typically used on railway tracks. Following the Election Commission's request for a report from the Bihar DGP, the probe has intensified.
