Chief Minister Nitish empowers 1 million Bihar women with aid

In a major step towards economic empowerment, Bihar's CM Nitish will aid a million women. The first installment of 10,000 rupees will be deposited directly into their accounts under the Women Employment Scheme. Currently, 14 million women have already benefited.

After the conclusion of the Bihar assembly elections, the state government continues to strengthen its mission to make women economically self-sufficient. In this endeavor, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will release the first installment of funds into the bank accounts of 1 million beneficiary women under the Women's Employment Scheme. According to information, the Chief Minister will transfer this amount via DBT at an event scheduled at 11:30 AM in the resolution auditorium of his residence.

10,000 Rupees for Each Woman

Under this scheme, the selected women will receive economic assistance of 10,000 rupees each to start small businesses or strengthen their existing work. Among the women receiving funds today, approximately 950,000 are from rural areas, while 50,000 belong to urban areas. All beneficiaries are associated with the Jeevika Group, which has become a significant platform for the economic and social empowerment of women.

1.4 Crore Women Have Already Received Aid

According to government information, 1.4 crore women have already received an amount of 10,000 rupees each under the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme. The payment process for the remaining beneficiaries is in its final stage. The goal of this scheme is to increase women's income and make them self-reliant and socially capable.

Under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, multiple schemes promoting enterprises like the Jeevika Group, Self-Help Groups, and women entrepreneurship have been introduced to economically empower women. The Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme is a significant component of these efforts.

Women associated with Jeevika have already been earning a better income through milk production, handicrafts, agriculture-based work, sewing, embroidery, and small businesses. The government believes that this financial aid will help expand their ventures further.
