The elections in Bihar are scheduled for the end of this year, stirring the political climate. In a candid interview with Aaj Tak, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav discussed the prevailing sentiments amongst Biharis who yearn for freedom from the current Nitish government. He also criticized the Election Commission for not taking opposition concerns seriously, alleging manipulation in previously won seats during the Lok Sabha elections. Yadav justified aligning with Nitish Kumar hoping to fulfill the RJD's agenda of creating 10 lakh jobs.
Tejashwi asserted that the BJP lacks a prominent leader in Bihar, a state known for its socialist roots and significant movements. He emphasized that they strive for national unity, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's ideals. According to him, BJP’s only agenda revolves around religion, lacking substantial concerns. He referred to Nitish Kumar as baggage, whom neither his party nor the BJP desires as a Chief Minister anymore.
Tejashwi boldly challenged the BJP regarding the Bihar Assembly elections, asking them to bring in teams from A to Z, including Trump and Putin if they wish, asserting that it won't change the outcome. He declared his unwavering faith in the people's voice, confident that the grand alliance will lead. He assured that voters will decide the leader, expressing robust confidence in himself. Despite his youth, he insisted, he stands firm on his commitments.
No alliance with Nitish Kumar under my watch: Tejashwi
The RJD leader emphasized that as long as he leads, there would be no coalition with Nitish Kumar, predicting a direct electoral battle. Yadav expressed concern for Nitish’s health and refrained from commenting on his age but criticized the unpredictability of Kumar’s statements as fixed in memory.
'We turned the impossible into possible'
On the entry of Nitish Kumar’s son into politics, Yadav welcomed all youth into policy-making, remarking on democracy's openness. He confidently recounted the achievements during his tenure, such as proposing employment initiatives, generating jobs for youth, and attracting 50,000 crore investments. Roads and infrastructure developments were accomplished under his vision, something Nitish deemed impossible.
What did Tejashwi say about Dhirendra Shastri?
Commenting on Bageshwar Dham’s Dhirendra Shastri, Yadav refrained from criticism, expressing they work per instructions given by higher authorities, suggesting BJP affiliations. He asserted commitment to their path without blaming others.
'Maximum distress among Hindus in Bihar'
Regarding statements from UP's Sambhal about Holi and Ramzan, Yadav highlighted past communal harmony. He criticized BJP as 'Biggest Liar Party' that disturbs peace and fails to foster development. Yadav claimed societal strength in Bihar, questioning the government’s actions for Hindus, questioning job provisions for them.
