As Bihar gears up for the legislative elections, the Nitish government has made a notable announcement. The state government has increased the social security pension scheme's allowance. The monthly pension for the elderly, the disabled, and widows has been raised from Rs 400 to Rs 1100.

CM Nitish Kumar posted on social media: "I'm pleased to announce that under the social security pension scheme, all elderly, disabled, and widowed beneficiaries will now receive Rs 1100 monthly instead of Rs 400. The increased pension will be provided from July. All beneficiary accounts will receive this amount on the 10th of every month. Nitish Kumar stated, “Elderly citizens are invaluable members of society. Ensuring their dignified and secure life is our utmost priority. The state government will continue its dedicated efforts in this direction.”

It should be noted that the Bihar Assembly elections are to be held at the end of this year. While the opposition party RJD is making big promises to the public, the NDA is pulling out all stops to retain power. Recently, PM Modi addressed a public meeting in Siwan, aggressively targeting the opposition. During this rally, Nitish Kumar also highlighted his government's achievements and targeted the RJD.
