The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Chaudhary, presented the budget in the assembly on Monday. Preceding the assembly elections this year, this is the final budget of the Nitish Kumar government.
Before presenting Bihar’s budget, Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary offered prayers at a temple. He placed the first copy of the budget in the temple and then proceeded towards the assembly.
Key Highlights of the Bihar Budget:-
- Establishment of private medical colleges
- Colleges to be established under the PPP model
- 108 urban health centers to be opened in Bihar
- Special care center for cancer patients
- Cancer hospital to open in Begusarai
The government to facilitate the establishment of compressed biogas plants through companies
- Government incentives for pharmaceutical production companies
- Establishment of hostels for working women in major cities of the state
- Support centers for migrant Biharis in various national cities
- Major announcement by the Bihar government: scholarship rates to be doubled
- Doubling scholarships for matriculation and intermediate students from backward classes
- Bihar's total budget amounts to 3 lakh 16 thousand 895.02 crores, with an increase exceeding 38 thousand crores.

- The Deputy CM emphasized that Bihar’s development is happening with central support and institutional policies have been streamlined. Financial management has improved compared to the past. The budget size was significantly smaller before 2005.
- A loan proposal of 1543 crore rupees is included in the budget.
- Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary is presenting a budget of three lakh 17 thousand crore rupees.
- While presenting the budget, the Deputy CM stated that Bihar's government is progressing with the power of the double engine.
The budget session in Bihar will continue until March 28. State assembly elections are scheduled by the end of this year.
