Bhupesh Baghel opts against anticipatory bail in Mahadev betting app FIR, seeks thorough understanding first

Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, during his stay in Rajnandgaon, shared his decision not to seek anticipatory bail regarding an FIR filed against him in the Mahadev betting app case. Addressing the matter on Monday, Baghel emphasized his intent to fully understand the case upon receiving the notice. He graced the South Block-level Congress Workers' Conference at Rajnandgaon's Yash Vatika. While there, he condemned the current government for discontinuing previous Congress initiatives including the Ujjwala Gas at Rs. 500 and housing for 18 lakh families, signaling that it's time for BJP's farewell.

Baghel criticized the BJP government, accusing them of deceiving the youth with hollow promises of a PSC scandal investigation. He predicted post-election budget cuts in welfare schemes and highlighted the temporary nature of the Rs. 3100 per quintal paddy procurement scheme.

Note that Baghel and 16 others, including the promoters of the Mahadev betting app Saurabh Chandraakar and Ravi Uppal, are implicated in an FIR covering various charges of fraud, conspiracy, and corruption. The case gained spotlight when the ED alleged having recorded a 'cash courier's' email statement exposing Baghel's purported acceptance of Rs. 508 crore from the app's promoters based in the UAE.
