During a conference of Imams in Kolkata, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the BJP for orchestrating the Murshidabad violence, labeling it as a well-planned act.

Banerjee challenged the central government on why they hastily passed the Waqf law. She questioned if they were aware of the current situation in Bangladesh and accused them of using central agencies to bring outsiders to incite riots in Bengal. She queried why the BSF didn't halt the violence.

Mamata appealed to Modi Ji to rein in Amit Shah, alleging that Shah is utilizing agencies against them. She questioned the future scenario when Modi might not be Prime Minister anymore.

This isn't the first instance of Banerjee targeting Amit Shah. In 2022, she stated that she doesn't believe the misuse of investigative agencies is due to the Prime Minister since the CBI and ED are under the Home Ministry.

Accusing the center, Banerjee highlighted the BSF's responsibility, pointing out their deployment along the 2200 km Bengal-Bangladesh border, attributing blame for disruptive elements crossing over from Bangladesh.

Banerjee accused the BJP of orchestrating violence by bringing in outsiders and inciting individuals regarding the Waqf. She asserted the Murshidabad violence was a planned conspiracy. She urged the INDIA alliance to unite against this menace, impacting everyone. She stressed the need for peace.

Banerjee declared that there will be no division between Hindus and Muslims, emphasizing unity. Highlighting silence from leaders like Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu on the Waqf issue, she claimed they only care about power. Banerjee warned that if the BJP were to rule Bengal, basic livelihoods would be halted.

Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP of trying to provoke people and urged the Hindu community to ignore such provocations, advocating for peace. She clarified that they do not support NRC, CAA, or Waqf. Her stance is against supporting riots or rioters, viewing this as a battle to safeguard India's constitution. Falling for provocations would inadvertently support BJP’s agenda.
