In the bustling city of Delhi, local authorities have detained 18 Bangladeshi citizens living illicitly. Among these were five individuals disguising their identities as transgender people. To achieve this, they even resorted to surgeries and hormonal treatments. This police operation has shed light on the startling new tactics of these illegal immigrants.
Comprehensive Search of 100 Shanties and 150 Narrow Alleys
The Delhi police, acting on secret intelligence, conducted an extensive operation. In the initial phase, they meticulously inspected over 100 shanties and 150 narrow alleyways. During intense questioning of a suspect, the individual confessed to being a Bangladeshi national. Guided by his information, the police discovered an entire family residing without valid documentation.
Disguised as Transgender to Hide Identity
In the first phase, police captured 13 Bangladeshi nationals, including 10 adults and 3 children. All were residing in violation of the Foreigners Act, 1946. In the subsequent phase, the police encountered five individuals who had assumed transgender identities. They adopted feminine clothing, wigs, makeup, and mannerisms to evade detection.
Underwent Surgery to Alter Appearance
Police sources revealed that some suspects underwent medical procedures to change their voices and facial features. They confessed that these measures were taken to avoid attention from law enforcement agencies. By integrating with the transgender community, they aimed to blend into the crowd undetected. Seven mobile phones, containing the banned messaging app IMO, were recovered from them.
Banned Messaging App IMO Installed
Investigations have shown that these individuals remained in direct contact with relatives and networks in Bangladesh through the app. Delhi police are now delving into the suspicious activities linked to this app. These 18 illegal immigrants have been identified as originating from districts like Dhaka, Khulna, Gazipur, and Ashrafabad in Bangladesh. It is suspected that they may also be involved in illegal activities around Delhi and its neighboring areas.
Handed Over to the Foreigners Cell
This operation has heightened police vigilance against other hidden illegal immigrants in the city. In recent months, there have been numerous arrests of illegal Bangladeshi residents. All suspects have been transferred to the Foreigners Cell for thorough interrogation and documentation. The Delhi Police remain alert to any potential networks aiding these activities.
