What did the DCP say about the incident?
DCP South Tej Swaroop Singh explained that the police took this as a challenge, combining efforts of surveillance and the station's team. They arrested five individuals including three siblings and two relatives, with the youngest being a juvenile. They all hailed from Chattisgarh, working as laborers in the city. Police also recovered stolen cash and identified two with criminal records. A case has been lodged at the Madhyav station and they have previously been jailed.
The DCP stated that most of the stolen goods have been recovered. The accused would reconnoiter before committing the crime and, instead of fleeing the city, they stayed, continuing their cycle of scouting and stealing.
