Tension is palpable after violence erupted in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. The family of the deceased Ram Gopal Mishra staged a protest by placing his body on the road. Fire engulfed a hospital and a bike showroom near the violence site. Homes faced similar chaotic destruction. A significant police presence now secures the area, as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also convened a high-level meeting with senior officials to address the Bahraich violence.

Late into the night, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took notice of the incidents and announced that those disrupting peace won't be spared. He instructed officials to identify and enact stringent actions against the miscreants while restarting the idol immersion process, which had been halted due to the unrest.

On the evening of October 13, during a Durga idol immersion procession in Maharajganj town, Hardi police station area, Bahraich's Mahsi district, tensions flared. As the procession wound through a particular community, disagreements over loud music led to violent clashes. Miscreants reportedly began throwing stones from rooftops, escalating into gunfire, tragically resulting in the death of Ram Gopal Mishra.

Approximately 15 individuals were injured in this violent incident, requiring medical attention. At the hospital, doctors sadly pronounced Ram Gopal Mishra dead. His death unleashed unrest throughout the region, with angry crowds armed with sticks and rods taking to the streets vandalizing shops, showrooms, and homes. To regain control, law enforcement resorted to baton charges. Heavy police deployment now ensures security, with the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) actively overseeing the affected areas.
