The Mumbai Police are intensively searching for a seventh suspect in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui. This suspect is believed to be a vital connection between the Bishnoi gang and the shooters involved. Thus far, six suspects have been identified, among whom two shooters and a conspiracy architect have been apprehended. The focus of the investigation revolves around four main angles, with the most significant being Salman Khan's involvement.
The police suspect that relations with Salman Khan might be a motive behind Baba Siddiqui's murder. The infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang has repeatedly threatened Salman Khan, having even resorted to firing outside his residence. Another vital line of inquiry is a potential contract killing; police suspect that the shooters were hired through the Bishnoi gang to execute this crime, with no direct personal motives involved.
Investigators are further probing to identify who within the Bishnoi gang ordered the hit and the nature of their relationship. A fourth angle involves a property dispute between Baba Siddiqui and a businessman. Siddiqui had negotiated with a Bandra merchant, amid allegations of threats being conveyed through gangster Chhota Shakeel.
In addition, some days prior, Baba Siddiqui reportedly circulated a pamphlet urging people to cease business with a particular tycoon, adding another dimension to the investigation. Meanwhile, police teams have conducted raids in Khandwa and Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, searching for a third shooter named Shivkumar Gautam.

Just a day after Baba Siddiqui’s tragic shooting, a Mumbai police team reached Madhya Pradesh on Sunday to locate Shivkumar Gautam. The police have thus far arrested three individuals: shooters Gurmel Baljeet Singh (23) from Haryana, and Dhamraj Rajesh Kashyap (19) from Uttar Pradesh, alongside co-conspirator Praveen Lonkar.
The shooters' handler, Mohammad Yaseen Akhtar, remains at large and is being actively pursued. The third shooter is reported to be a native of Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. According to local accounts and police reports, he allegedly had no criminal history before working at a scrapyard in Pune, Maharashtra. On July 8, he posted a controversial message on social media stating, "Honest father, but we are not."
His mother, Suman, expressed shock and disbelief at the police's claims of Gautam’s involvement in three-time MLA Siddiqui's sensational murder. In a recent development, third suspect Praveen Lonkar was presented in a Mumbai court, subsequently remanding him to police custody until October 21. It is alleged he facilitated communication with the two now-arrested shooters.
