According to the Ram Mandir Trust officials, the priests have embraced a new wardrobe, retiring their saffron robes for yellow garments. The sight of priests in saffron turbans, kurtas, and dhotis is now a memory as they don a yellow dhoti paired with their usual turban and kurta.

The temple authorities have informed that the revised dress code was implemented from July 1. The new priests have undergone training to expertly tie the yellow turbans. Their 'Chaubandi' kurtas, notably, don't employ buttons but are secured with strings, and the 'dhoti,' a piece of cotton cloth, is wrapped around the waist, covering the legs down to the ankles.

The temple houses a chief priest supported by four assistant priests. Along with each assistant, there are five trainee priests. Teams of priests offer their services in five-hour shifts between 3:30 am to 11 pm. Just like the visitors, priests are now also prohibited from carrying mobile phones into the temple.

It’s noteworthy in Indian traditions that the color yellow holds a special significance. It’s commonly used in auspicious activities and ceremonies. Henceforth, the priests of Ram Mandir will be seen in yellow vestments, which was ushered in with specialized training for the priests.

On the historic day of August 5, when the Ram Mandir's foundation stone ceremony took place, Prime Minister Modi donned a yellow kurta, although the priests present wore saffron. This move aligns with the temple's evolving traditions and maintains the utmost respect for its cultural heritage.
