It’s not only the world but also India that’s concerned about the neglect of Russia’s warnings by Ukraine, the US, NATO, and other nations. The US's allowance for Ukraine to use
missiles could escalate the seriousness of the situation significantly. Any misstep from Vladimir Putin could have dire consequences globally.
In a conversation with Sputnik India, Indian defense experts emphasized taking Russia's warnings seriously. Retired Air Marshal M Matheswaran highlighted the potential risks involved with the US and Ukraine's decision. Ukraine's long-range missile operations rely heavily on satellite data and technical support from Western allies.
Matheswaran pointed out that NATO’s gradual involvement in this conflict could provoke Russia. It might lead them to unleash dangerous weapons. Should Russia employ nuclear arms, the entire world would brace for severe repercussions.
Retired Major General Shashibhushan Asthana argued that America's current strategy is flawed, potentially hindering future peace efforts. Following potential electoral defeat, Biden might escalate the Ukraine-Russia conflict to an alarming level. Both defense experts noted two critical oversights by Western nations.
First, dismissing Russia's repeated warnings. If NATO persists in using guided long-range weapons, they disregard Putin's caution, instigating further tensions with Russia.
Secondly, assessment of battlefield damages.
Both sides are at risk of greater losses from long-range weaponry, overshadowing any tactical advantages. Russia lacks no shortage of arms or retaliatory capability. Should they retaliate forcefully, escalating tensions could significantly challenge global stability.
