An unsettling case has emerged from Araria district in Bihar, where a woman claims she was abducted by car and held captive across different areas in Delhi and Bihar for several months. The victim accuses Moh. Alam from Palasi village in Narpatganj police region, along with eight others, of subjecting her to physical and mental harassment in an attempt to forcibly convert her to Islam.
According to the victim, she was first abducted by car and taken to Bhimpur and Veerpur. She was subsequently held captive in Saharsa and later in Delhi. During this ordeal, she was subjected to harassment and pressure to convert her religion. She claims there are active individuals in the border region working to enforce such conversions. It was alleged that she was force-fed beef and pressured to recite Quranic verses. Moreover, she received threats against her children's lives and had her jewelry confiscated.
Physical and Mental Harassment for Religious Conversion
The woman managed to escape her captors, eventually reaching Araria with her husband and filing a complaint directly in court. In court, she narrated the entire tragic sequence of events to the judge. The victim stated that after enduring months of harassment, she seized an opportunity to flee to her husband.
Court Orders FIR Registration
During the hearing, the victim’s lawyer K. N. Biswas revealed that the woman accused eight individuals of kidnapping, harassment, and forced religious conversion. He mentioned that, given the gravity of the situation, the court has instructed the Forbesganj police chief to promptly register an FIR and initiate further investigation. The victim desires strict action against the accused to prevent such an incident from happening to another woman. The case has sparked discussions among locals.
