Haryana witnessed a political turnabout. On Tuesday afternoon, Manohar Lal Khattar resigned from the post of CM, and by evening, Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the new chief. Amidst this flurry of events, BJP stalwart and former Home Minister Anil Vij's discontent became the talk of the town. Khattar himself said that he knows Vij since the 1990s and believes he will come around. On the other hand, Vij was seen in his hometown Ambala, enjoying pani puri and aloo tikki.

According to reports, as the new government was being formed in Chandigarh with the swearing-in of the CM and ministers, Vij was in Ambala, indulging in savory street snacks. A video has surfaced showing Vij arriving at a street food stall with his supporters and security personnel, interacting with people, sharing laughs, and then enjoying pani puri served on a plate. He later savored aloo tikki and praised the taste.

What did Khattar say?

When questioned about Vij abruptly leaving a meeting in upset on Tuesday, former CM Khattar responded. He acknowledged Vij's tendency to get upset quickly but also to reconcile just as swiftly. He mentioned this is part of Vij's temperament and they are in talks with him. The new chief minister will also converse with Vij. Despite being on the cabinet list, Vij remarked he wasn't inclined to serve at the moment – how can work be demanded under duress? Further discussions with him are anticipated.

On Wednesday, Anil Vij expressed his unwavering dedication to the BJP, stating that circumstances change but he has always worked for the party and will continue to do so even more vigorously now.

What did Khattar say about the alliance falling apart?

Khattar remarked that in the 2019 elections, BJP won all 10 Haryana seats. JJP leaders must have discussed seat-sharing for the Lok Sabha with the central leadership. There's nothing official, but JJP has decided to contest the Lok Sabha seats independently and further decisions were made subsequently.

Nayab Singh Saini Becomes Haryana's New Chief Minister

BJP state president and MP from Kurukshetra, Nayab Singh Saini, was sworn in as Haryana's chief minister on Tuesday evening. Alongside him, five ministers also took oath. Saini has requested the governor to convene the legislative assembly session on Wednesday to prove BJP's majority on the floor. Before Saini taking oath as the chief minister, Khattar submitted his resignation along with his cabinet, quite suddenly.

Dilemma for Vij in Saini's Cabinet?

Earlier in the day, upon the arrival of the party's central observers in Chandigarh, Khattar and the 13 other members of his ministerial council submitted their resignations to the governor. Among the five legislators who were sworn into Saini's cabinet, four are from BJP and one is independent. However, Anil Vij, a six-time MLA from Ambala Cantt and former Home Minister, did not receive a position in the new ministerial cabinet.
