In an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, Home Minister Amit Shah spoke candidly on various issues. Addressing the question of anti-incumbency that typically arises against any leader after 10 years, he differentiated between rumblings of dissent and outright anger. 'Just mentioning Modi's name brings a smile to people's faces,' said Shah. No matter whether in the east, west, north, or south, I have witnessed unwavering trust in Narendra Modi. Nowhere, even with the aid of a telescope, can anti-incumbency be spotted. Our nation is united and ready to re-elect Modi. From 272 seats in 2014 to 300 in 2019, this time we aim to cross 370 and the NDA over 400.

When questioned about PM's popularity versus local MPs, Shah highlighted that leadership is key. A single visionary leader is the one who transforms party ideology and vision into action on the ground. Narendra Modi has risen from our grassroots workers to become a prominent world leader. It is under the leader's guidance that the party fulfills its promises, adapts its ideology, and sets its goals. The leader defines and brings the party's ideology to fruition.

'India Should Also Adopt Uniform Civil Code'

Addressing BJP's manifesto promise to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Shah referred to it as a major societal overhaul. Our constitution's framers thoroughly debated this during its inception, acknowledging the need for a UCC within the country. Though they felt it wasn't the right time then, Article 44 instructs the legislature and parliament to work towards a UCC when appropriate. This promise and guidance from the Constitutional Assembly remains, despite Congress's objections due to vote bank politics. As UCC is prevalent in all democratic countries, it's time India adopts it too.

Nation Trusts PM Modi's Guarantee: Amit Shah

Home Minister Amit Shah shared that PM Modi has cleansed the country from the depths of corruption over the past 10 years. Not even the smallest corruption charge can be levied against him, claims Shah. Every poor citizen is now receiving benefits. PM Modi's vision is that when India completes 100 years of independence, it will be wholly developed and self-reliant. In this election, the public will once again affirm their trust in PM Modi to fulfill this vision. The country believes in PM Modi's guarantee.
