With the voting for Maharashtra's 288 assembly seats scheduled for November 20, a storm has brewed as senior BJP leader and national general secretary Vinod Tawde faces accusations of distributing cash in Nalasopara. This controversy has ignited Maharashtra's political climate. Shiv Sena (Uddhav) leader Sanjay Raut has sharply criticized the BJP on this issue, making serious allegations. Raut sarcastically commented on the 'If you distribute, you will win' slogan, suggesting it's now evident that the BJP believes in winning by spreading money. He also pointed fingers suggesting that Tawde might have been entrapped by his own party.
Sanjay Raut Strikes Back
Sanjay Raut stated that Vinod Tawde, a national general secretary and prominent leader in Maharashtra, has been involved in such activities during elections nationwide. He noted Tawde holds significant responsibilities and has experience in distributing funds. However, the way people have encircled him makes it clear all is not well within the BJP. Some leaders within the party have been keeping an eye on Tawde, raising questions about how a seasoned leader could get caught. Devendra Fadnavis needs to clarify why only Tawde is targeted. If the BJP stands for ethics, they should take action against Tawde.
Election Commission Steps In
In light of the accusations against Vinod Tawde for distributing money in Nalasopara, the Election Commission has filed a complaint under the Representation of the People Act. An FIR has been registered against Tawde and BJP candidate Rajan Naik.
Vinod Tawde's Response
Vinod Tawde has defended himself against the monetary distribution allegations, asserting it is a conspiracy against him and calling for an impartial investigation by the Election Commission. He clarified that he had only gone to meet workers and had done nothing wrong, blaming it on a conspiracy by Mahavikas Aghadi workers. He urged police and the Election Commission to investigate thoroughly.
