An unsettling event has unfolded in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, involving an 8-year-old girl. The accused, identified as 42-year-old Amit Singh, was allegedly the girl's neighbor.
According to police reports, this incident occurred on Friday evening while the child was playing outside her home. Singh enticed her with chocolates to his residence and then assaulted her. The child returned home in tears, recounting the harrowing ordeal to her family, who then raised an alert, causing the suspect to flee.
In immediate response, the victim's family filed a police report, prompting the authorities to send the girl for a medical examination. The police swiftly acted, initiating a search for the suspect and successfully apprehending him within hours.
On the matter, Aligarh Rural Superintendent of Police Amrit Jain confirmed the suspect's arrest and incarceration, indicating that a thorough investigation is underway. Strict charges have been filed against the perpetrator.
