In Uttar Pradesh, the rallies of SP leader Akhilesh Yadav are drawing massive crowds, leading to chaotic situations. After Phulpur and Santkabirnagar, the latest rally in Azamgarh during the election campaign turned unruly as a stampede ensued due to the crowd's overwhelming response.
During a rally in the Lalganj Lok Sabha constituency for Akhilesh, the situation once again spiraled into pandemonium. A video has surfaced where supporters trying to approach the stage were pushed back, resulting in a chaotic scramble. The loudspeaker stands also collapsed in the frenzy. Moreover, as the frontline supporters were driven back, those at the rear also fled the scene rapidly.
Previous Phulpur Rally with Rahul and Akhilesh Also Saw Stampede
A similar scenario was witnessed earlier at a joint public meeting in Phulpur, Allahabad, between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, where the situation got out of hand and both leaders were advised to leave for their safety. Nonetheless, they stayed and released a video of themselves conversing at the rally site.
Panic Erupted at Santkabirnagar Rally as Well
Prior to this, at Akhilesh Yadav's rally in Santkabirnagar, a large assembly of SP supporters broke through the barricading, surging towards the stage, creating a scene of disarray. The viral video of the Santkabirnagar rally showed legions of supporters breaching the security cordon, even reaching Akhilesh's vehicle, where they managed to take selfies with the SP head.
