An Air India plane flying from Ahmedabad to London tragically crashed on June 12. The aircraft collided with the building of BJ Medical College Hostel near Ahmedabad airport. Out of 241 on board, 240 lost their lives, while the hostel walls' impact also involved numerous students in the disaster. Now, a new video showcases this incident.
The fresh video depicts the harrowing scenes post-crash, as hostel residents hurriedly protect themselves.
The video highlights MBBS students attempting to descend from the second and third floors using makeshift ropes made of cloth. Students can be seen leaping down with the help of bedsheets.
In the footage, flames can be seen in front of the hostel, with terrified people screaming. While some students can be seen crafting ropes out of bedsheets, others utilize these sheets to jump over the railing to safety.
It's significant to note that on June 12, Air India's flight AI 171, heading to London's Gatwick Airport from Ahmedabad, crashed shortly after takeoff. The aircraft struck a hostel building before crashing, severely damaging both the hostel and nearby buildings. Of the 242 people onboard, including 230 passengers, 2 pilots, and 10 crew members, 241 perished. Among the crew was a single survivor—a British Indian named Ramesh Vishwas Kumar.
