Air India released a statement confirming that the flight encountered a technical snag during the takeoff roll, leading to its halt before departure. The flight is rescheduled to depart later in the evening. All passengers were safely deplaned and are being provided with extensive assistance by Air India's ground staff.

Slide off the runway at Mumbai Airport during landing
Earlier today, another significant incident was averted at Mumbai Airport. Amid heavy rains, Air India flight AI-2744 arriving from Kochi slid off the runway. The A320 aircraft landed at 9:27 AM on runway 27, but after touchdown, it veered 16–17 meters off the runway. The aircraft entered the unpaved area, but the pilot expertly controlled it back onto the taxiway, bringing it safely to the gate.
