The leader of AIMIM and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has once again criticized Pakistan. He stated that the Pahalgam terrorist attack was an act of inhumanity and the Modi government should respond decisively to Pakistan. He also pointed out that the Waqf issue is a matter within our country.
In an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, Asaduddin Owaisi expressed, 'I tell our Narendra Modi government that we should enter into their home (Pakistan) and take a stand. We had an excellent opportunity in 2019 when we could have taken control of the launch pads or the territories from where terrorists infiltrate our nation. This time, if we enter their home, we should firmly establish ourselves there.'
On a question related to the situation in POK, he remarked that it is a part of India and this is a resolution of our Parliament. It is an inseparable part of the nation. No one can deny it.
'Waqf is an Internal Matter of My Country'
When questioned regarding the opposition to the Waqf Amendment Law, he responded, 'Look, the Waqf issue is an internal matter of the country. My nation's constitution grants me the right to stand in Parliament and oppose this law. And I am doing precisely that. Opposing this law is not opposing the country. What happened in Pahalgam is a Pakistani-sponsored attack on our nation's citizens within the nation; we will respond. The difference between India and Pakistan is that India still enjoys democracy, while Pakistan is under dictatorship with five to six families and the army controlling the entire country.'
All Parties Stand with the Government: Owaisi
He continued by saying that the Modi government has escalated citizens' expectations. Post the Uri attack, there were surgical strikes. Following Pulwama came Balakot. Hence, the nation expects this government to take more robust actions beyond surgical strikes and Balakot. In reference to an all-party meeting, he noted that all parties have expressed unity. We want to curb terrorism. This cannot continue repeatedly.
'Pakistan Is Divided by Its Leaders'
Owaisi pointed out that he wants to inform the people of Pakistan that their leaders have divided them in the name of Islam. They attack your mosque under the pretense of Islam. They invoke the name of Islam, yet launch attacks on Afghanistan. They invoke Islam but attack the Iranian border. The people of Pakistan have received nothing. Look at yourself and look at India; today, India stands at a prominent place, and you are standing in a pit. The people of Pakistan should question their leaders. Is terrorism in the name of Islam when terrorists from Pakistan come and kill our nation's citizens? Previously, Owaisi compared Pakistan to the terrorist organization ISIS (Islamic State).
