Adani Announces Major Investment in Uttar Pradesh: ₹14,000 Crore Power Plant in Mirzapur

Adani's company is constructing a major power plant in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. This 1600 MW (2x800 MW) Greenfield ultra-supercritical thermal power plant is a strategic move by the company to elevate its thermal power capacity up to 30 MW. Once completed, this plant is expected to significantly boost power supply on a large scale.

According to a report by Business Today citing ET, this unit is being developed by Adani Power's subsidiary, Mirzapur Thermal Energy (UP) Private Limited (MTEUPL). As per the report, Gautam Adani’s Adani Power (Adani Power) aims to increase its thermal portfolio from 15.25 GW to 30.67 GW by 2030.

Investment Details for Adani Power Plant

The report indicates that the company is projected to spend approximately ₹14,000 crore on this project. Meanwhile, Adani Power Limited shares (Adani Power Share) were trading at a decline today. Last checked, the shares were down by 2.14 percent at ₹718.75. However, on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, there has been a 36.83 percent increase.

Adequate Land in Mirzapur for the Plant

In a statement on Wednesday, Adani Power (Adani Power) confirmed that MTEUPL has procured adequate land in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh to set up the large-scale thermal power plant. The company further added that "the capacity of the supercritical energy plant will continue to expand, with revised capacity increase estimates at 80 GW+."

Additional Plant in Raipur

Adani Power has also initiated the development of a 1600 MW (2X800 MW) ultra-supercritical thermal power expansion project in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where a 1,370 MW plant is already operational.
