During the SCO Summit in Tianjin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed with a special gesture by the Chinese government. For this two-day visit, Prime Minister Modi is riding in the prestigious "Made in China" Hongqi car, the same model used by President Xi Jinping on his official trips.

The Hongqi L5, also known as the "Red Flag," was also used by Xi Jinping during his meeting with PM Modi in Mahabalipuram in 2019, symbolizing China's flagship vehicle. PM Modi continues to use the Hongqi car during his stay in China.

Russian President Putin Arrives with His 'Aurus'

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has also arrived in Tianjin for the summit, traveling in his presidential "Aurus" car. Made by Russian automobile company Aurus Motors, the car is equipped with retro-style luxury features and, during the summit, is assigned a Chinese diplomatic license plate.

Bilateral Talks Between PM Modi and Xi Jinping

During the summit, an important bilateral meeting took place between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping. In the discussions, Xi Jinping proposed that "the Dragon and the Elephant should come together as friends."
