In a shocking turn of events, a real estate agent, Loknath Singh, was brutally murdered in Bengaluru. The grisly murder of the 37-year-old real estate agent and loan consultant has sent shockwaves through the city. What initially seemed like a tragic killing quickly unfolded into a heart-wrenching tale of betrayal and a murder plotted within his home.
DCP North Bengaluru Saidul Adawath stated, "We have arrested his wife and mother-in-law for his murder, and further investigation is ongoing."
The Complete Story
On March 22nd, around 5:30 PM, police received an emergency call at number 112. Upon arrival, they discovered Loknath's body in a deserted area inside a parked car, with his throat gruesomely slit. Loknath had been in a secret relationship with a woman for two years. In December 2024, the couple married in a ceremony in Kunigal. However, the marriage was kept hidden from the family, who opposed it due to the age difference.
After the marriage, Loknath left his wife at her parental home, concealing the truth from his family. About two weeks ago, the truth surfaced, along with revelations of Loknath's alleged extramarital affairs and suspicious business activities. Tensions rose within the family, leading to arguments, threats, and discussions of divorce.
Murder in Seclusion
The police revealed that Loknath had begun threatening his in-laws, escalating their fears and pushing his wife and mother-in-law's anger to the breaking point. They conspired to kill him, reportedly poisoning his food with sleeping pills to weaken him. His wife then took him to Chikkabanavara under the pretext of a conversation, while her mother followed in an auto.
In a secluded area, both women executed the heinous act, slitting Loknath's throat inside the car before fleeing the scene. An investigation was initiated after a complaint filed by Loknath's brother, eventually unearthing the grim truth.
The two women have been taken into custody. Further questioning revealed Loknath was already under investigation by the Bengaluru CCB for a fraud case.
