A significant cabinet reshuffle has been announced in the Tamil Nadu government. The government has recommended that Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, be allotted the Planning and Development Department in addition to his current responsibilities and be named as the Deputy CM. The Governor has accepted these recommendations. Udhayanidhi Stalin is the son of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has also recommended to the Governor that V. Senthil Balaji, Dr. Govi. Chezhiyan, R. Rajendran, and Thiru S.M. Nasar be included in the cabinet. The swearing-in ceremony for the new ministers and the Deputy Chief Minister will take place on Sunday at 3:30 PM at Raj Bhavan in Chennai. Additionally, the Tamil Nadu government has re-inducted Senthil Balaji into the cabinet following his recent release on bail by the Supreme Court.

In addition, Stalin has recommended the removal of Minister for Milk and Dairy Development, T. Mano Thangaraj; Minister for Minority Welfare and Non-Resident Tamil Welfare, K.S. Masthan; and Tourism Minister, K. Ramachandran from the council of ministers. The Governor has also approved these recommendations by the Chief Minister.
It is noteworthy that CM Stalin hinted on Tuesday that Udhayanidhi Stalin might be appointed as the state's Deputy CM and that a cabinet reshuffle was on the cards.
Comment on Sanatan
Udhayanidhi stated at the Sanatan Eradication Conference that the opposition to Sanatan should go beyond mere antagonism, suggesting that it should be eradicated because it stands against social justice and equality. Some things cannot just be opposed but need to be eliminated, much like diseases such as dengue, malaria, or COVID-19 need to be eradicated. In the same way, he argued, Sanatan must also be eradicated.
However, he later clarified his statement, saying that his words were exaggerated and false rumors were spread. He noted that he participated in a conference titled
