Petition Filed by Baba Gorakhnath

The voting date for the Milkipur seat remains unannounced, as former MLA Baba Gorakhnath has lodged a petition in the High Court regarding the 2022 general elections. This petition was filed after he lost to Avadhesh Prasad of the Samajwadi Party in the 2022 assembly elections and is still pending in court.

Avadhesh Prasad Wins Lok Sabha Elections

Recently, Baba Gorakhnath's lawyer claimed the petition might be withdrawn within a couple of days as the issue of cancelling the election is now moot. Advocate Rudra Vikram Singh mentioned that Avadhesh Prasad has already won the recent Lok Sabha elections and is now an MP. Consequently, they will soon withdraw the case, inform the Election Commission, and wish for the elections to proceed swiftly.
