Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has taken a strong stance against the Election Commission. Raising concerns over voter list discrepancies and revision issues, he has yet again targeted the Election Commission. Gandhi emphasizes the Constitution's mandate: 'One person, one vote.' He asserts it is the duty of the Election Commission to ensure this principle is upheld. He firmly states, 'The story's not over. We will not stop. We are safeguarding the Constitution.'

Speaking outside Parliament on Tuesday, Gandhi told reporters this matter extends beyond a single seat, impacting numerous constituencies. He accused systematic manipulation at the national level. Gandhi highlighted that while the Election Commission and they were aware, the opposition now possesses evidence.

He reiterated that implementing 'one person, one vote' is the Election Commission's obligation, which, according to him, remains unfulfilled. Gandhi affirmed that the opposition’s mission is the defense of the Constitution and it will continue undeterred. During the voter list revision in Bihar, it was reported that the age of a woman named Minta Devi was incorrectly listed as 124 years by the Election Commission.

Reacting to such anomalies, the Leader of the Opposition mentioned numerous similar cases have surfaced. Following Rahul Gandhi's allegations, his sister and Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also voiced her views. As a Member of Parliament from Kerala’s Wayanad constituency, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra affirmed that Rahul Gandhi had outlined all the issues during his press conference.

Priyanka Gandhi pointed out the prevalence of fake voter records, including phony names and addresses, even among relatives. Notably, just a day before, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, opposition MPs marched to the Election Commission's office protesting over voter list discrepancies. During this protest, Gandhi and several MPs were taken into custody by the police.
