Former Home Minister and senior Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde has blamed the BJP for the increase in terrorist activities in the country. Referring to the Pathankot attack on Wednesday, Congress leader said that terrorist attacks in the country increase as soon as BJP comes to power.
Shinde stated, 'Whenever BJP comes to power, terrorism gets a chance.' He mentioned that terrorism thrives under the BJP's rule. Just a few days after the Prime Minister's visit to Pakistan, the Pathankot attack occurred.
BJP reminds of Mumbai attack In reaction to the Congress leader’s statement, BJP reminded him of the Mumbai attacks and termed him as a failed Home Minister. Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said, 'Before making such accusations against BJP, Shinde should look within. He failed as the Home Minister.'
'Congress should apologize' Meanwhile, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi called Shinde's statement irresponsible and demanded an apology from Congress. Naqvi said, 'This is a very irresponsible statement from someone who has been the Home Minister of the country. Congress should apologize for this.'
