The escalating crime incidents in Bihar prompted a fierce criticism from Chirag Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Union Minister. He launched a sharp attack on the state government and administration. On Monday, Chirag Paswan issued a statement declaring that law and order in Bihar has utterly collapsed and crime is at its peak.

Mention of Nitish Kumar's Home District

He particularly highlighted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's home district Nalanda, stating, 'When criminals can fearlessly murder two people in broad daylight in the Chief Minister's own district, it clearly shows how emboldened these criminals have become.'

The Sunday Murders

Indeed, on Sunday, in the Bihar Sharif area of Nalanda district, unidentified criminals shot dead 16-year-old Himanshu Paswan and 20-year-old Anu Kumar. Chirag Paswan condemned this incident as extremely unfortunate, reprehensible, and a shock to humanity.

He mentioned having a conversation with local authorities over the phone regarding the severity of this heinous crime and directed them to identify and take strict action against the perpetrators.

Chirag Paswan added, 'Such incidents not only tarnish Bihar's image but also raise questions about the safety of ordinary citizens in the state. It should be noted that this incident has once again fueled a political debate about the law and order in Bihar.

Rahul Gandhi Attacks Nitish

It should be noted that four days ago, a businessman was shot dead in Patna, following which the opposition intensified its criticism of Nitish Kumar. Rahul Gandhi had commented that the public shooting of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna once again proved that the BJP and Nitish Kumar together have turned Bihar into ‘India’s Crime Capital.’

He stated, 'Today, Bihar is forced to live under the shadow of plunder, murder, and shootings. Crime here has become the 'new normal,' and the government appears helpless and ineffective. Brothers and sisters of Bihar, it’s no longer possible to endure this injustice. The government that cannot guarantee your children’s safety can offer no assurance of their future. Rahul Gandhi emphasized that this vote is not just about changing the government but about saving and rebuilding the entire state of Bihar.'
