In a tragic incident in Pahalgam, terrorists shot India's Intelligence Bureau Officer Manish Ranjan. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. Manish Ranjan served as a Section Officer at the Hyderabad IB office. Originating from Bihar, he was on a trip to Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, with his family, including his wife and children.

The attack was so sudden that Manish Ranjan didn't have a chance to defend himself. The terrorists, camouflaged in military attire, didn't trigger any suspicion among the tourists relaxing in Baisaran Valley, a popular holiday spot.

Consequently, the attackers managed to target a larger number of people. Tragically, Manish Ranjan's wife and children witnessed the incident but were unharmed.

The attack has claimed 26 innocent lives so far, with 17 others injured and receiving care in various hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir. This terrorist attack, occurring around 2:30 PM on Tuesday, stands among the most severe in the region, characterized by gunfire on tourists at Baisaran Field by camouflaged assailants.

Following the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was visiting Saudi Arabia, cut his trip short and returned to Delhi on Wednesday morning. At Delhi Airport, NSA Ajit Doval, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, and the Foreign Secretary briefed him on the Pahalgam attack details.

Post the attack, PM Modi had a bilateral discussion with the Saudi Crown Prince but skipped the formal dinner, prioritizing his immediate return to India.

The Pahalgam attack also claimed the life of a young Navy Officer, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was on his honeymoon trip to Kashmir post his marriage on April 19. He was stationed in Kochi.

Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, a resident of Haryana, lost his life, but his wife remained safe. The couple had arrived in Srinagar on Monday before heading to Pahalgam. Post the attack, a heart-wrenching image of Narwal's wife with his body circulated on social media. Vinay Narwal hailed from Karnal, Haryana, residing in Sector 7, and joined the Navy two years ago. Upon receiving the tragic news, some family members departed for Srinagar.
