Addressing the Rajya Sabha on NEET, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised stern action against those who deceive the youth or attempt to spoil their futures. PM Modi's warning echoed through the upper house as he criticized the opposition for playing politics over NEET.

Decisive Actions Being Implemented

The Prime Minister assured the youth that anyone attempting to deceive the young generation or gamble with their future would face strict measures. 'Each student in the country should know that the government is seriously working to prevent such incidents. All responsibilities are being addressed with utmost urgency,' he stated.

Strengthening the Exam System

PM Modi emphasized the continuous arrests in the NEET case and mentioned the existing stringent laws. Steps are being taken to reinforce the entire exam system to ensure its robustness.

Prime Minister's Appeal to the Opposition

Regarding the paper leak, PM Modi expressed his desire to avoid politics over such sensitive issues, but criticized the opposition for its habitual politicking. 'I assure India's youth that action is being taken to ensure that those who play with their futures will be strictly punished,' he affirmed.

Opposition Demanded Discussion on NEET in the Rajya Sabha

The opposition has consistently challenged the Central Government over the alleged irregularities in NEET. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi requested a parliamentary debate on the issue in a letter to PM Modi. Despite earlier refusals, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla assured opposition members that he would discuss the matter with the government.

In an unusual move, the NTA declared NEET UG results (June 4th) well before the scheduled date, coinciding with the Lok Sabha election results. After controversies surrounding the declaration of 67 toppers, NTA held a re-examination for 1563 candidates on June 23rd following cancellation requests and a stay on counseling. With a hearing scheduled for July 8th at the Supreme Court, it is anticipated that the CBI and the Financial Crimes Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, who initially investigated the NEET paper leak, will make significant revelations.
