Investigative agencies are deeply involved in uncovering the conspiracy to derail the Kalindi Express train in Kanpur. According to the obtained information, agencies have collected footage from 219 CCTV cameras, interrogated over 100 people, and detained 12 individuals. Currently, interrogation of several suspects is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Kanpur police have also questioned three gas cylinder agencies. It is believed that LPG cylinders were used in the attempt to derail the train. Important inputs might be obtained from questioning these cylinder agencies.
The police and investigative agencies are trying to determine the origin of the cylinders from the serial numbers found on the recovered cylinders at the scene. According to sources, the police have obtained the names and addresses of those who purchased the cylinders from these agencies. Interrogation with them will soon begin.
Additionally, it has been reported that when the investigative agency conducted a search operation with their dog squad, their sniffer dog entered the bushes near the scene. It is suspected that the individual(s) attempting to derail the train may have been hiding in these bushes to execute the conspiracy.

Notably, alongside UP police, LIU, NIA, IB, and ATS are stationed in Kanpur. The NIA has also been updated on the case. UP's DGP Prashant Kumar stated that senior officials have inspected the site. We are taking this very seriously. As facts unfold, we will keep you informed. Every aspect is being examined. The investigation is ongoing.
It should be noted that late Sunday night, the
Kalindi Express
train collided with a cylinder. Fortunately, no accident occurred as the driver applied emergency brakes and halted the train. According to the police, during the investigation, it was revealed that some unidentified individuals had planned to blow up the express train using gas cylinders and explosives. The UP Anti-Terrorist Squad recovered a gas cylinder, a box of sweets filled with explosives, a matchbox, and a petrol bomb from the scene.
This gives an idea of how big a disaster could have occurred if the gas cylinder had exploded after the collision. The train could have fallen victim to a major conspiracy. The Railway Police, ATS, and Intelligence Bureau believe that a major conspiracy could be behind this event, which is why the government has now handed over the investigation to the NIA.
