Doha Diamond League:
India's star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra secured second place at the Doha Diamond League with a remarkable throw of 88.36 meters in his final attempt, which was also his best. Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic clinched first place with 88.38 meters, and Anderson Peters from Grenada finished third.
Chopra's start in Doha was not ideal, with his first throw being a foul. However, he quickly recovered with his second attempt reaching 84.93 meters. His third got even better, marking 86.24 meters. His fourth and fifth throws were recorded at 86.18 and 82.28 meters, respectively. In a thrilling final attempt, Chopra nearly overtook Vadlejch, missing the top spot by a mere 0.02 meters. Chopra's personal best stands at an impressive 89.94 meters.

Kishore Jena Places Ninth
Asian Games silver medalist Kishore Jena of India also made his Diamond League debut finishing ninth with his best throw at 76.31 meters. The next leg of the Diamond League will be held on May 19th in Morocco. Chopra is the title defender here as well, having bested Vadlejch and Peters in the 2023 season.

Neeraj Chopra has won three different stages of the Diamond League and claimed the Champion's Trophy in 2022. Following this, he will compete in India for the first time in three years at the National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar from May 12-15. Jena will be participating as well. The qualifying rounds for men's javelin throw will take place on May 14, and the final is scheduled for May 15.
